Move Site to New Server

The move website tool allows you to quickly move whole website or individual services (ie: email) belong to a websites between servers on your Enhance cluster (Shared or Dedicated).

Enhance will automatically update the DNS for websites that use Enhance. If a website’s DNS is hosted externally, this will need to be update manually.

The following websites can not be moved between servers on your Enhance cluster:

  1. The Application role for service websites can not be moved to a new server.
  2. Soft deleted website can not be moved between servers.

Move website to new server

It is not possible to move the database role for websites which are utilising ‘Caching_sha2_password’ authentication plugin between different database kinds (MariaDB and MySQL). To move a website with ‘Caching_sha2_password’ you will need to delete all users and readd them with ‘mysql_native_password).

To move websites between servers on your Enhance cluster:

  1. Open Servers in the left side bar
  2. Select Manage on the server you would like to move the websites from
  3. Scroll to services and select the service you would like to move the websites from and select Move server
  4. When the Move server page loads, click Next and then Start now to confirm the move
  5. You will be pushed to a progress page when you can keep track of the move

or

  1. Open Websites in the left side bar
  2. Select one or more websites that you would like to move and click Move server
  3. When the Move server page loads, click Next and then Start now to confirm the move
  4. You will be pushed to a progress page when you can keep track of the move

or

  1. Open Move server in the left side bar
  2. Click ‘New migration’ this will push you to the Websites page
  3. Select one or more websites that you would like to move and click Move server
  4. When the Move server page loads, click Next and then Start now to confirm the move
  5. You will be pushed to a progress page when you can keep track of the move
